About Learning for Pleasure
History

Learning for Pleasure was formed over 30 years ago as a break-away group from the WEA. The Government demanded written work and exams for groups like the WEA and many members felt that they did not want the pressure of written work and wanted to learn just for pleasure, hence the name. The Committee of volunteers, which meets half a dozen times a year, runs the charity and the Officers supervise the day-to-day functions.
